Splash Pad

We finally made it to a splash pad this summer! We had a mom's club activity. Elliott loved it of course...and Emily ran away from the water...of course. When we got within 20 ft of the splashpad...Emily put on the brakes. I tried to get her to put her hand in it...instead she ran back to the bench. She then ran off into the playground...so she hung out in the swings...and was very happy!!

Galveston

We headed out to Galveston this morning. It's been several years since we have been. As soon as we got into town and drove towards the seawall....I was shocked by how much it stunk!! There was soooo much seaweed. We found a place that was tolerable. You still had to step through some seaweed. Elliott of course had so much fun! Emily...well...she's not a fan. Well...she's just not a fan of water...period. I still made her wade her feet in the water. But as soon as a wave would come she'd get scared and she'd lift her feet and legs into a sitting position. She must have some amazing stomach muscles to do that! Silly girl. So Emily and I hung out in the car watching Elliott & Patrick. 

We stopped by IKEA on our way home...and this is my sweet girl hanging out with me.

Primary Activity

We had a fun primary activity this morning. I took Elliott out of VBS for the day so he could go.

They had a raingutter regatta. Kids made little sailboats and blew through a straw to propel them to the end. It was a lot of fun....Elliott loved it. They then made bubble snakes and then made large bubbles. My phone died on me...so I only got pics of the bubble snakes. Emily had no interest in any of this...she was content to play with the rocks in the flower bed.

Sea World

I've been wanting to take the kids to Sea World lately. I think Elliott would absolutely love it! So when I saw the preschool pass for free...I jumped on it. But we had to go before June 30th. We were going to go next weekend, but Brock & Katy were able to come with us this weekend. We love spending time with them, and will miss them when we won't be able to see them as often!!

The kids LOVED IT!! I didn't get to see Elliott enjoying the shows as much...I had Emily on my lap. But Emily loved it! She was glued and could spot the animals pretty quickly...and point at them. She would randomly clap during the shows too...it was way cute.

We let Brock & Katy call the shots and decide what we were going to do. Patrick & I had been before...and we ended up getting season passes too...so we'll come again anyway.

We saw the Beluga Show 1st. It was nice.

I then went on a rollercoaster with Brock & Katy. Yeah...that was crazy. It was okay....I survived....but I could've also survived without going!

Elliott really wanted to go on that rollercoaster....so I watched Emily while Patrick & Elliott went on this rollercoaster for kids. Elliott LOVED IT!

And then we found a ride that Emily could go on. She seemed so serious here...but she liked it.

I love this genuine smile of my little guy!

We then saw the sea lion show. It was good too.

Whenever we ask Elliott what his favorite part was....he says looking at the sharks. Which is crazy...because we looked at them for less than a couple of minutes.

Waiting for the Azul show:

The Azul show has always been a favorite of mine and Patrick's. Elliott absolutely LOVED the preshow....with the silly guy playing with the shooting water.

And then the last show was the shamu show. This is when my body wanted to expire!!! Lol! I was in a hurry to sit with Brock and Katy...and when I spotted them....they were clear on the opposite side! And I had to carry Emily all the way...while weaving in and out of crowds and while making sure Elliott stayed with me. I immediately handed Emily over to Katy. On the way I saw they closed the gates. I thought for sure Patrick didn't make it in. I was so glad when he sat by me a few minutes after we found Brock & Katy.

We were quite pooped!! I LOVED seeing how excited the kids were to see all these animals. Elliott was pooped too...and we let him sit in the stroller until we got in the car. 

Emily 23 Months!

Today is the last of the monthly pictures I'll be taking/posting of Emily. Can't believe this little baby of mine is going to be 2 next month!!! Love this girl to pieces!!

Emily is so much fun...and independent...and I'm just loving her personality more and more each day.

She is still my little snuggler and she'll still let me hug on her and love on her.

Emily is getting more opinionated on what she does and does not want.

She is still a pretty good eater overall. Her favorites are grapes and crackers.

She loves to play outside. Right now she loves to play with daddy's rocks around the garden bed. Yeah...that drives him crazy.

She LOVES naptime...and so do I! She has been napping for at least 3 hours lately....I'm able to get so much done in that time. 

She is still her shy sweet self. She still gets apprehensive when we go anywhere to see anyone new...or whenever someone comes over. She is quite glued to my side.

She's talking more and more each day. She'll try to repeat most things. But overall, she's still pretty quiet.

Oh...her FAVORITE....is watching the baby genius sing a long songs on the TV. She doesn't care to watch anything else on TV...but this is her favorite! She'll watching it several times in a row. When I tell her we are going to watch "Emily's show"...she gets really excited and starts clapping and saying "yay". 

Elliott was trying to hid from the camera....but my camera was too fast for him to hide his face from me!

She was playing with a cord...and she didn't care that I was telling her "no" a gazillion times. But she did fall apart when I took it away.

And this is what she does to let me know she's upset with me...she gently lays herself on the floor and makes sure I am watching her. It's pretty funny.

Monkey Joe's

 We had a mom's club activity at monkey joe's today. The kids...once again...have been cooped up in the house...so it was good to get them out.

Emily had no interest in this place!! But Elliott LOVED it!!

Bow Board

I made this bow board for my sweet friend, Emily. She's having her 1st girl!! So excited for her!! I wish the colors came out better in this picture!
