Easter 2013

LOVE the Easter season!! It's not a lot of prep work like Christmas is and you get to teach your children about our Savior. Loved Sacrament Meeting today...music and talks were wonderful and the Spirit was very strong. I don't nurse Emily in church anymore due to our meeting's time change, so I was able to enjoy it.

Last night we dyed eggs. We've had a great weekend. Patrick got off work on noon on Thursday, and we were running around all weekend long. It was great family time, and we just loved it! So last night we didn't even start boiling the eggs until close to 7 pm. Elliott's bedtime is 7:30...yep...he didn't quite make bedtime. He had so much fun dying the eggs!!!

I decided Elliott should try using tongs instead of the silly egg dipper....it worked really well.

As soon as Elliott woke up this morning, he asked if the Easter Bunny came. So Patrick got up to go hide the eggs. Elliott was so excited to go hunt the eggs! This is the first year that Elliott was able to go hunt for eggs in a yard.

Poor Emily had just woken up. Can't you tell?

Bluebonnets 2013

Patrick is home today since it's a bank holiday. So we went in search of bluebonnets.

It was a hard day for Elliott to get his pictures taken. He fell out of the car when we got there...so that wasn't the best start. And then he was complaining of the sun being in our eyes...so that wasn't cool either. You can tell by all of our squinting.

I thought this picture was cute of these two...Elliott looks so sweet and loving.

Emily 36 Weeks

We only have a few pictures of Emily this morning. We were in a hurry and needed to get out the door.

Emily has been rolling a lot more this week. Mostly to get to more toys...and her ball keeps rolling away. We've been so busy this week. Her nap schedule has been such a wreck! But she's a champ and has been quite accommodating. 

Monday--Emily had play group with Mom's Club. (Oh...we joined Mom's Club...so excited!)

Tuesday--Egg Hunt at Discovery Green.

Wednesday--Playdate with the Stutz twins.

Thursday--Daddy came home early and we all went shopping.

Friday--Good Friday. Daddy was home so we went searching for bluebonnets and went shopping.

Poor girl...hopefully tomorrow we can get back on schedule.

Emily tried broccoli for the first time. She loved it, of course. She's such a good eater. I tried to get creative...and I mixed yams and green beans...not a good mix. She was not a fan.

News this week: She  likes attacking my face and torturing me. She gets so excited and pats my face and then grabs my face into her little fists. She is lifting her body up more in preparation of crawling. I couldn't tell...but there may be a tooth coming in soon. She has decided that her little blankie bear's arm is her new pacifier. When I get her from her nap...she is always sucking on it. Silly girl. She's 8+ months old...we are not going to start a pacifier now.

I realized after this shot that I forgot her bow! Can you believe it!?!

Irish & Stutz Play Date!

The Stutz were in town this week. It was so much fun to get together with Megan and the kids. She is such a good friend, and we miss them so much and wish we lived closer!!

Her twins are 2 weeks older than Emily...and so much more mobile. It was fun to get these babies together. All three are such good and fun babies. Emily was in awe of them and had fun watching the other two.

Now Elliott and Will had a blast!! Elliott is 1 year and 1 month older than Will...but they are definitely buds. We were in the house hanging out. Megan decided to look out the window and she found these too stripped down completely!!! Those stinkers. They were way cute though! Together they would fill up the bucket, 1 would sit in the bucket while the other would push the bucket over. Then they would start over and take turns who would sit in the bucket. So cute and innocent. I am curious whose idea it was to strip down!! Ha ha!!

Egg Hunt at Discovery Green

Today, I ventured out and took the kids to Discovery Green for an egg hunt. I normally don't do this...but I thought it would give us something to do. I was nervous about driving downtown by myself...I'm not familiar at all with downtown Houston. I think it's all the one way streets that throw me off. But Patrick gave me some detailed directions. It was quite a big egg hunt, they said they had over 11,000 eggs. When we got there, parking was crazy. I circled several times trying to find a spot. I found one in a lot where I had to pay online....it was okay. I'm glad I did pay online, because when we got back there was a guy giving tickets to all the cars that didn't pay.

The first hunt was for kids 0-2 years old. We took Emily out and got her 1 purple egg to play with. I gave Elliott the candy.

We then had the 3-5 age range. There were so so many kids! When they said go, someone knocked Elliott down. We got a little frazzled, but then he got up and he was on the go. I watched from the edge of the grass so I didn't have to take Emily along. I got some pictures I was impressed that I was able to crop tiny Elliott in my big huge picture...that is why there's some fuzzy pictures. Elliot came back with his basket filled to the top...he probably would've gotten more if he had a bigger basket!

This is 1 of 3 areas of eggs. The guy in the middle is the security guy to make sure no kids get a head start. Ha ha!

There was candy in some eggs...but some eggs had tickets to redeem for small toys and bigger candy. But it was such a huge long line. We had time so we hung out in line. Elliott went through all his eggs...and ate his candy. A lady took this picture of us....it's the only one she took....I wish Elliott was smiling...but he sure was busy eating his candy.
