Crazy Hair

We've really enjoyed being outside the past few weeks. When Patrick gets home, we all head outside. I blow bubbles for the kids. Patrick works on the garden. And the kids run around like crazy. Elliott usually plays with the frisbee and Emily debates whether it's worth risking her life stepping onto the grass. She usually makes me blow the bubbles. 

Her hair is in a crazy hair stage...not sure what to do with it these days.

Emily stuck her hand in the water table...she wasn't amused and was quite disgusted that her hand is now wet. She's not that fond of water....probably why she hates bathtime. We'll see how she handles the splashpads this summer. She'll most likely be stuck to my side and not venture out to the water.

Elliott's last soccer game

Today was Elliott's last soccer game of the season. He had so much fun this year. This was our 1st year to do it through Coles Crossing. We are really glad we did it through them than YMCA. It's cheaper, more games, and they have practices during the week. And they have coaches. His favorite position is goalie...I'm sure that's every kid's favorite position. He's sad that it is over, but he's anxious to try baseball.

Emily 21 Months

This sweet little girl is 21 months today...on Easter. She was not feeling very well today. Super cranky while we were all getting ready for church this morning. And then she was brought to me during nursery because she was quite warm. I held her the last hour and she just laid her head on my chest the entire time. Poor thing. I'm pretty sure it's teething. Her temperature was 99.6. Her temperature never goes over 100 when she's teething. So I didn't torture her too much with lots of picture taking.

I love this girl so much!! Lately, I have been feeling so so grateful for her.

She is such a sweet little girl. She's my buddy and hangs out with me all the time. She snuggles to me and gives me hugs on demand.

She is also really sensitive. She can get her feelings hurt quite easily. I'm going to have to keep that in mind for the future during the teenage years.

She's definitely silly....and she knows it. Some nights when I put her to bed, instead of saying "bye"...she blows raspberries at me. Stinker....but I love it!

She is a pro at sharing. I guess it helps to have an older brother. If you just ask her, she'll give you anything. However, it's not very cool with her if you just take something from her.

She is addicted to the ipad. It's my fault completely, especially since she has her own folder on it. She likes to steal it from me too. So I've been having to hide it from her during the day.

She still loathes bathtime. I had to have Patrick's assistance last night. I'm starting to loathe Emily's bathtime too now.

Easter 2014

The kids had such a fun time with Easter this year. Saturday we dyed the eggs. We had Emily drop the eggs in and Elliott took them out. That worked out really well! Emily kept getting impatient though. I bought this scissor egg tong things...they worked out really well!! I need to find me another pair or two to have on hand for the future. I had some koolaid packets on hand. So we made our egg dye from that this year. It worked out really well this year.

We are pretty sure Elliott forgot it was Easter this morning. Once it got some light outside. Patrick peeked out the window and said someone had been in our yard. I pretended to be really concerned. And Elliott was insistent on looking outside. And then he saw the eggs. He was way excited. Emily was way more timid....or just tired. She did more hunting eggs at yesterday's ward easter party. Elliott had a blast of course. Emily's favorite part was opening up the eggs.

Ward Easter Party

We had our ward Easter party this morning. Since I'm in the primary presidency, I really needed to be there. Elliott had a soccer game at the same exact time. We let him choose whether to go to soccer or the easter party. I was really surprised that he chose his soccer game. So Emily and I hung out at the Easter party. She had fun hunting for the eggs and even wanted to go for more! I snapped these with my cell phone and was very pleased how they turned out!!

Good Friday at Brazos Bend

We were really excited to have Patrick off work today! So we took advantage of it and went to Brazos Bend. I've been leery of going ever since I saw that one snake. Surely, I wouldn't find one again in our pathway....ahem...oh nevermind.

We spotted 58 alligators. A gazillion turtles. And 1 snake (YUCK! YUCK! YUCK!)

So...ironically, I'm the one that found this snake...again. In pretty much the same exact spot as the last one I found....last year! Patrick says it's a water mocassin. It was about 1 1/2 to 2 feet long...and kind of fat. Patrick and Elliott were walking ahead of Emily and me when I saw it. I had to yell at them several times...and they finally stopped when they were 2-3 feet away from it. Elliott proceeded to make fun of me being scared of the snake. And he really delights in telling people about it...ha ha ha!!
