Emily 49 Weeks

I can't believe this little project of mine is 3 weeks away from being finished!! Emily is way way too busy to sit still for pictures...she has no interest in being a camera subject...she just wants to go go go!

Emily is no longer toothless. She has one tooth that came in on Monday. It looks like the one next to it and 4 on the top are wanting to come in soon too.

Emily's bashfulness is getting crazy...each day it gets more exaggerated. She is also getting way more attached to me. Because she is becoming so shy...she only wants to hang on to me.

Emily had her 2nd swimming lesson yesterday. She is learning to kick in the water more. She can also hang on to a little intertube all by herself...but of course I'm right there and won't ever leave her. I'm anxious to see what happens towards the end of her lessons.

I've been thinking more about her 1 year birthday. I can't believe it's coming up so soon.

I have no idea how this picture exists with her sitting still..luck I tell you.

Temple Trip

I am so grateful I was able to visit the temple this morning. My friend Alison and I are going to trade off so we can each go more regularly. It's been almost a year since I've been last. Probably the longest gap it's been for me for not going to the temple. I really enjoyed the strong spirit and the solitude! So grateful for this time I was able to spend there and so grateful for a temple close by. The session I attended was also the largest I had ever attended. At 10 til I was in the chapel and it was packed...I was the 23rd woman, with a line behind me. It was a missionary session. When I went to the chapel, one of the workers said to me, "Welcome to the mega-session!" So true. It was good though.

1st Tooth

Today, Emily's tooth finally made it's cut. I have no picture because you wouldn't be able to see it at well. So a little over 11 months old and she has gotten her 1st tooth. 5 more are about to make their cut any day now as well.

Ouch!

I went to check on Emily today during naptime. And this is how I found her...dead asleep. Last night before I left for a Relief Society activity, I also checked on her and found her this way too. Crazy girl. I think she was playing and got too tired and fell asleep like this. How does one fall asleep like this?!?

VBS

Elliott has been in VBS all week. The 1st day he was so shy and scared to stay. And then by today (Friday), he ran off to his "teacher" and gave her a big hug. We call her a teacher because he relates to that as the one in charge. We also called his soccer coach a teacher. It just works well that way.

He loves his "teacher"...she must be a lot of fun. The highlight of the day is his snack...he tells me they had lemonade and cookies or crackers. Not really what I wanted him to like most....but it works. He also enjoys dancing...not singing (he reminds me that every day too). This crazy kid hates singing in primary but loves watching So You Think You Can Dance with me. 

I just LOVE this big huge smile of his here! I don't get very many pure genuine smiles from him! LOVE IT!!!

Emily 48 Weeks

I gave Emily my lens cap so she would stay still. Ha ha! It worked for a few seconds. That girl keeps me busy and is always on a mission to somewhere.

Emily's new development this week has been standing! Seriously...she wants to get up and stand next to everything! We had to put our coffee table next to the wall...I was really worried about her standing against the couch and falling and hitting her head on the table. So now our living room is wide open. We also lowered her crib to the bottom setting. However, once she stands, she can't get down. So then she whines that she is stuck....she has learned to let herself fall gently onto her bottom. But that's only when she's desperate to get down.

She is so in love with her little doll. Whenever I give it to her...she hugs on it like someone might take it away soon. I put her doll next to some electronics to see what she'd choose. It was the doll. I was shocked. I'll have to get a picture of her hugging on her doll...it is so cute. She is such a little girl. Love it!

Oh...and her bashfulness is so cute. Each day I swear it gets more exaggerated. She stares at you and tries to get your attention...then as soon as you look at her she gets bashful and ducks her head. It really is so cute. Of course...this is probably some sort of flirting tactic of hers....I'm so in trouble.

I always try to get a "corner of the couch" shot. I've had one taken almost each week so I can compare them. This girl cannot sit still for the pic..so this is the best I could do.

It's especially hard to sit still when there is a laptop 2 feet away....she is in a laptop craze phase lately. It's her number 1 mission lately...to get to Mom's laptop.

Emily 11 Months

This little 11 month old sure is keeping me busy! Like...really busy!

She is everywhere and into everything...and if I don't let her get to something she has her mind on...she sure does let me know how uncool I am.

She's had quite the busy busy month:

Her first 2 yucky colds.

Way more attached to her favorite doll.

Has become so very bashful (or a flirt). If anyone, (including her daddy), looks at her, she immediately bows her head down.

Major snuggler!

1st time in the swimming pool.

Started swimming lessons.

1st time at the splash pad. (It must be summer!)

She loves to play with the light switch and can now turn them off.

She can now pull herself up into a stand. She does this all the time. But afterwards, she can't move. She can't move her feet to walk. She can't get back down unless she falls.

We lowered the crib because of her standing. We lowered it to the very bottom position.

And here are her 11 month old pictures. I started and finished her dress yesterday. Way easy.

The phone here is keeping her busy and still.
